How is doing this even legal... I just do not understand how many times they can pull stuff off like this and continue to get away with it. Does that not really give it away that they did things on purpose and are now covering up their mistakes? Give me a break.

Anyway, as surprising as it seems, I have no problem with this. I saw it on the web the other day. I am hugely against generic complicity claims and guilt-by-association.
If events such as Abu Ghraib, X torture @ Gitmo, or Y Torture for answers happened, they might have been illegal, but that is on the individuals conducting the act. The Administration surely could have taken a more aggressive stance to stopping it, but the Commander-in-chief shouldn't bear the brunt of responsibility for every underling's wrongdoings.
