Hockey News

I have not got around to much hockey news but here is some... The Maple Leafs have fired their GM John Ferguson and temporarily replaced him with Cliff Fletcher. I think it is about time the Leafs made some sort of a move for a team that has missed the playoffs the past two years even though last year it was by only one point. Standing at 19-22-8 which is second last in the entire league for points, this team definitely needs to go in a new direction. They have plenty of young talent, Mats Sundin will probably be traded before year's end and who knows with the new salary structure around the league, this team could be turned around in a year or two.

In other news, Sidney Crosby's high ankle sprain will force him to miss not only the All-Star game this weekend but he could possibly be out up to 8 weeks. Tough loss for the Penguins and certainly a loss for the NHL with its best player going down.
